Ricky Collins – A Poker Champion is Crowned - 75 views

Poker Shuffle 7 Champion

Ricky Collins – A Champion is Crowned

Poker Shuffle Finals at Ilha Restaurant and Bar rocked. We had about 24 players who took part in the Wild Card Event, with the likes of Dario”Wing Nut” Badenhorst, Yourek”The Cowboy” Dotan, The Stockdale Brothers, no one was safe!
The Wild Card came down to 3 players, Gareth Vlotman, Shane Mackrill and Etienne Van Lingen, who were shoving chips around faster than a McDonalds chip frier! Gareth Vlotman won the Wild Card!

The Final Table took their seats along with being awarded their Fantastic Sponsored Prizes from Ilha Bar and Restaurant and The Sports Science Institute.
Each Poker Shuffle Finalist walked away with a One Month Memebership, with a Personal Trainer, valued at over R1400.00.

Ricky”Mr. Consistant” Collins, took down Poker Shuffle Season 7 Poker Cup with patient and cunning play.
The Final Table was one of the roughest tables i have ever seen at Poker Shuffle. The playing style was aggressive, and 3-betting was the order of the day. Poker Shuffle Poker has reached a new level!!!
Gareth Vlotman, the Wild Card, was the first casualty…and so the table played it out for a while. Garth Mackrill, managed to hang around for a while after being crippled by Gavin Taylors pocket aces.
Mike Barfoot had a quiet game, not picking up any cards at all, whilst Brian Stotter played just about 98% of his hands.
The final three were Matty Kemp, Derek Hebbert and Ricky Collins.
Matty was short stack comming into the the final three. Unfortunately, her stack was not threatining enough to ward off the value calls. Matty finished in a well deserved 3rd place.
Derek and Ricky played very conservatively. Both are champions in their own right, Ricky a past league winner and Derek a past cup winner, this heads-up play was set for a dinger.
The final hand was very tricky. No raise pre-flop(if memory servers me correctly)…both players checked to the turn. Ricky checked the river, enducing an all-in bet from Derek…snap call, Derek showed mid pair…Ricky shows a straight!
