Double Up on Micro Tables Safely

November 30, 2009

It has been a good few weeks for me and online poker. I have recently been moving my funds around and playing on a  larger variety of poker sites. I really enjoy the variety, as it keep my mind fresh and helps fight the repetitiveness of viewing the same graphics and game play.

My bankroll keeps growing and so is my knowledge base of how online poker works and the psychology of the players I’m going up against.

I decided to record my first online session on Full Tilt Poker and show you how easy it is to double up on micro-tables using a  tight aggressive approach. Notice that on this table, the players appear to be tight but are actually really week. This is illustrated by he two hands i decided to play.

I entered the table with $2 and my goal was to double up. I left with a little over $4. Mission accomplished.

Stakes: 2c / 5c and the game was capped( no one could bet more that $1.50 in a single pot. Apologies for the lack in commentary, i will make sure that the next videos have audio.

Poker Challenge 2: 50 Seat Frenzy Again

November 25, 2009

Experience pays off . My online game seems to be improving the whole time and so are my payouts! I recently played in the Joe Cada $100 000 Tournament and bombed out prematurely. I dint play my game and played fish poker and failed.

So what does it take to beat 30 000 players? For one, pick your hands and pick them wisely. JQ can gets you into trouble, especially if your out of poistion…so beware!

This time, today in fact, i played a Tri-Nations Poker Tournament on Party Poker and won a seat to the 50 Seat Frenzy which qualifies 50 lucky players for the $200K special at the end of the month. Its mine! Last time, i was unable to play this tournament and missed out.

In a frantic game of online tournament poker, i ran into some trouble early on against a marginal weak hand. This is how it panned out! 9 Handed Table - Deep Stack 40 000 Pre-Flop SB- 100 folds BG- 200 folds 3rd- calls 200 4th- Hero raises to 1600 with pocket kings 5th- folds 6th- folds 7th- calls 8th-folds 9th- calls ................................. The Flop Kh, 9h, 2s Hero- Continuation bet of 1600 and now sitting with ''A set of Kings'' 2nd player- calls 1600 3rd player- calls 1600 ................................. The Turn 9 c Hero- Continuation bet of 3600 and now sitting with ''A Full House, Kings and 9's'' *at this point i know that getting the right betting amount is vital. The thought crosses my mind and wonders if these guys would limp in a hefty pre-flop raise with A 9 or J9...but i give them more credit. 2nd player- Moves all in 3rd player- folds Hero- Calls but after some time, stressing and beginning to think that he might have pockets 9's but call anyway. * He turns over A 9 unsuited and i show my full house. ................................. At this stage i i'm leading by 99% and all that he can hope for is a 9 for a 4 of a kind. He hits his 9 and i am out! What a hand, i have been analyzing my betting structure all round for a few days now and i have realized that it was perfect- You cant account for luck, he got lucky!
