All the Poker Shuffle members took part in the Wild Card Event to fight for the valuable 10th seat to the Final Table. Monster hands were dealt until a 4 way game took place with Tanith Rothman, Malcolm Stockdale, Wynne Julius and Stef Kruger(myself). Tanith took the Wild Card Seat, making amends for her narrow miss in the qualification rounds the week before.

The final table took their seats along with their coverted Final Table Bangles.

The Final Table was packed with loads of action and quality poker was on display.  Positional play was the name of the game with the occasional bluff and power shove to unsettle a few players. The final three showdown was between Ashley Kempson, Mike Barfoot and Ricky Collins and went down to the wire.

Ashley Kempson earned 3rd place after a fantastic season and Ricky coming back from 2000 chips when the blinds were 5000/10000 to finish 2nd in solid ‘Rocky’ fashion. Ricky also manged to top the Seasons League Points and take the win!

Mike Barfoot was crowned Poker Shuffle Champion for Season 5. Mikes solid play was well respected by all players, especially pre-flop and proved that solid play and a strong table image is vital to taking down pots and winning tournaments.

The ahnd that crushed him was AQ which ran into rockets. Chris placed for $68,854.80 out of A total of 4,684 players and a total prize pool of $1,405,200 .

I played in 18 straight games and busted out 1st in all of them but at the same time, my online game has been thriving. Could it be that i have a poor poker face?

I read an article on another poker site and they said that studies show that people who play with strong and stern faces tend to have players play into them with strength.

On the other hand, players that played with friendly and happy faces had players play into them with weaker and lighter hands.

I changed my approach and smiled  at my last 3 tournaments…and guess what? I cashed in all of them and finished in the top 2 at worst! The interesting aspect was that i smiled so much that most of the players saw it as a threat.

Phil Ivey heads-up against Deprimiert on the $2000/$4000 Limit Table. When i joined the action they had just started with $40 000 each. Min raise pre-flop play and frantic betting and raising saw NAME get crushed and reload 6 times in 40mins , before he started to get up on Ivey. Unfortunately, this upswing only lasted for about 20mins!

Upswing for Deprimiert

In this time, Deprimiert , was able to win back about 80% of his money but didn’t stop there. The rail birds were going insane, with chirps of match fixing. The thing that got to me was how loose they ere both playing! Calling to the river even when missing the board!!!

Ivey began to pull back again and that was i could watch. I got a sinking feeling in my stomach seeing so much money being thrown around like chum change.
